Biomass Pellet Machine Operation Tips and Procurement Reference

2026-09-28 15:24:35

Loose, poorly bonded pellets produced by a wood pellet machine generally stem from three causes:

overly high raw material moisture, low ring die compression ratio, and insufficient conditioning temperature.

First test that raw material moisture stays below 15%.

Then verify whether the ratio between ring die hole diameter and effective length suits the fibre properties of your feedstock.

If pellets remain loose, contact your pellet machine supplier for customised compression ratio recommendations.

The same pellet machine can process both straw and wood, though material fibre length and soil content must be considered.

Straw carries high ash and impurity levels, which speed up ring die wear over continuous operation.

Our vertical ring die pellet machine features an upper stainless steel granulating chamber housing

and fully sealed material paddling structure for reliable dust proof and anti corrosion performance,

supporting alternating straw and wood pellet production.

For frequent raw material switching, a variable frequency feeding system is advised at the customisation stage to adjust feed rate.

To assess the true technical capability of a pellet machine manufacturer, evaluate three key aspects.

Check if the manufacturer independently produces core machine components including ring dies, pressure rollers and main shafts.

Review the brand selection for outsourced critical parts such as reducers and motors.

Carry out on site visits to inspect workshop machining precision and quality control procedures.
