Troubleshooting & Process Guide for Corncob Pellet Machine

2026-10-26 10:20:18

Corncob pellet machines and wood sawdust pellet machines are generally interchangeable.

Despite the physical differences between corncobs and sawdust, mainstream vertical ring die pellet machines can process various biomass materials

by adjusting the ring die compression ratio, conditioning parameters and feeding speed.

If raw materials are switched frequently, specify your main processing material when purchasing so suppliers can customize dies and crushing sections accordingly.

Corncobs must be crushed before pelleting. Dense corncobs need to be broken into proper particle size for pelleting.

Oversized or uneven particles hurt pellet forming rate and machine stability.

A crusher matching the pellet machine capacity is recommended for continuous line production.

The moisture content of raw corncob before pelleting should be kept at 12%–18%.

Too much moisture causes loose pellets and higher energy consumption;

too little makes forming difficult. Adjust drying parameters flexibly based on ambient humidity and initial material moisture on site.

Loud noise and heavy vibration during operation are usually caused by uneven ring die wear, improper roller clearance or insufficient main shaft lubrication.

Regularly check wearing parts and add lubricant as required.

Contact the supplier for on-site technical support if the fault persists to prevent further damage.

Production line capacity is measured by hourly tonnage.

Besides the pellet machine, you also need supporting machines for crushing, drying, conveying, dust removal and packaging.

Calculate unit cost based on hourly output, and work out the payback period considering local raw material cost and pellet selling price.

When sourcing corncob pellet machines, evaluate suppliers'service capacity from three key points:

complete production line design instead of only selling single machines, on-site installation, commissioning and operator training after delivery,

plus fast after-sales response and spare parts supply. Reliable long-term operation relies heavily on consistent supplier service.
