Many factors cause pellet machines to overheat, smoke and stop discharging.
High raw material moisture
Raw material moisture (ideal:13%–18%) that's too high or low disrupts production.
Excess moisture turns to steam under roller extrusion heat, eventually jamming the pellet machine.
Burned pressure roller bearings
Damaged bearings lead to hot mounting areas, running noise, heavy machine shake, stalled parts and fluctuating current.
Triggers: foreign debris, wrong installation, poor lubrication, fatigue, mismatched or low-quality bearings.
Unsuitable die compression ratio
Each material needs a specific compression ratio.
Excessively high ratios block dies, overheat the pellet machine, cut output, raise power use, blacken/carbonize pellets and damage the machine.
