Inconsistent color (blemished texture) and surface peeling in pellet mill-produced pellets stem from uneven raw material mixing, differences in conditioning and gelatinization levels, and improper cooling airflow.
Core Causes:
Insufficient raw material mixing time leads to uneven distribution of trace elements and additives;
Some materials are not adequately conditioning, resulting in low gelatinization and color differences compared to fully gelatinized materials;
Excessive cooling airflow causes rapid evaporation of surface moisture, leading to internal moisture migration that breaks down the surface layer, resulting in peeling and color variation.
