Malaysian clients from a biomass pellet plant recently visited our factory
to inspect rotary drying solutions for their palm biomass pellet project.
The client sources shredded empty fruit bunch (EFB) and palm kernel shell from local palm oil mills to produce fuel pellets.
Fresh EFB supplied by palm mills has a moisture content between 48% and 55%.
This fibrous material is sticky and cannot be pelletized directly.
Palm kernel shell features a more stable calorific value and will be blended in to improve the quality of finished pellets.
To meet export standards, the moisture of the mixed raw material needs to be steadily reduced to 12–16% by a rotary dryer.
During the visit, our engineers introduced both single-layer and three-layer rotary dryer options.
Single-layer rotary dryers come with lower upfront investment and simpler daily maintenance,
while three-layer rotary dryers save workshop space and achieve higher thermal efficiency.
We demonstrated the dryer prototype equipped with anti-sticking lifting plates specially designed for palm fiber.
Both sides discussed heat source options, dust removal configuration, workshop layout, spare parts supply and overseas after-sales service.
The customer will evaluate both dryer solutions based on their budget and available factory space before making a final decision.
