Can the collapsed bell mouth of a pellet mill ring die be repaired? (2)

2025-09-10 11:31:02

Jinan Share Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. recommends that after a period of use, the inner surface of the ring die be regularly inspected for protrusions and unevenness, and the die guide opening (bell mouth) be checked for signs of flattening, sealing, or inward tilting. If any signs are found, chamfering and repair can be performed to extend the life of the ring die. If the inner wall of the ring die is severely worn, the inner wall should be polished and the bell mouth reworked. Whether a severely worn pellet mill ring die can be repaired and reused depends on the extent of the wear. When repairing, pay attention to the thickness of the inner surface of the ring die. The lowest point of the working inner surface of the ring die should be 2 mm higher than the bottom of the overtravel groove, and there should still be room for adjustment of the eccentric shaft of the pressure roller after repair. Otherwise, the ring die should be scrapped to avoid injury caused by mold explosion.
