How deeply should a pellet mill's ring die be worn before it should be scrapped, or replaced? What are the criteria for ring die wear failure? (2)

4. Ring Die Cracks: Inspect the surface of the pellet mill's ring die for cracks, marks, or deformation. If there are cracks on the ring die wall, the machine should be shut down and the die replaced immediately.

5. Ring Die Surface Wear: If the pellet machine's ring die surface is severely worn, with noticeable marks, the pellets produced will not meet specifications and require replacement.

6. Adhesion: If there is a large accumulation of particles, grease, and other debris on the inner wall of the ring die, this will affect material discharge and impair the pelletizing effect of the pellet machine, requiring prompt replacement.

7. Wear Dimensions: Use a tool such as a vernier caliper to measure the outer diameter, inner diameter, and thickness of the ring die. Determine the degree of wear based on the dimensional changes. Alternatively, use a wear tester or other equipment to measure the degree of wear.
