At what point should a pellet mill pressure roller be worn out before it becomes unusable? (1)

The pressure roller in a pellet mill is the main component that compresses material into the desired shape. During operation, it transmits pressure. The toothed groove design on the outer circumference of the pressure roller optimizes the pellet production process, increasing the contact area with the raw material and effectively compressing it into pellets. So, at what point should a pellet mill pressure roller be worn out before it becomes unusable? Visually, you can judge by the wear on the roller's diameter. Severe wear will result in uneven material extrusion, uneven pellet thickness, and poor quality. When the roller is worn to its limit, with diameter wear exceeding 15%, you'll notice insufficient material intake, excessive powder output, and finer pellets. This indicates severe wear, and the pressure roller should be replaced immediately to ensure the pellet mill's normal operation.
